001 | Video/Action for New Bark

[A video appears on the feed with the sound of a Pokemon crying out happily, slightly muffled and at a bit of a distance. ”Goon! Gooon!” The feed shudders a bit, the surroundings shifting until whoever is on the other side finally gets their PokéGear angled toward themselves. Coming into view is what appears to be a young girl, and from the way their voice sounds in addition there’s nothing that could lead anyone to believe otherwise. This is in fact not the case, and rather she is a he. Still, the outfit he’s currently wearing seems to be made specifically for girls...]

Hello. ..Um. ...

[The child on the other end hesitates, pausing before trying to start again.]

My name... is Chihiro Fujisaki. I’m…not sure where I am...or what is going on, exactly.

[There’s a pause as the feed shifts once again, Chihiro moving to carefully sit in the grass instead of standing. The second he does a Zigzagoon climbs into his lap, nudging his head fondly against the underside of the boy's chin. He's not entirely sure what to do, obviously slightly unsure of the furry creature in his lap, but he seems friendly at least. After a pause he gently pets the Pokémon who continues to sit happily in his lap. Chihiro has arrived slightly overwhelmed by...well, everything, so it’s a moment before he’s able to continue.]

Or...how I got here, but.... Naegi-kun, Oowada-kun, Ishimaru-kun...um...Asahina-san...

[He quickly prattles off all the names of his classmates that he can remember off-hand, before realizing that a huge list of names won’t probably mean much if they...aren’t actually around. That thought strikes him hard for a moment before he takes a breath and continues, his grip on the ‘Gear tightening.]

...and everyone else. If any of you are here, from Hope’s Peak, please answer. Something...something must have happened. I mean, I’m outside again...and not...

[Chihiro seems unsure of what else to say, whatever he was saying dying on his tongue with his voice wavering slightly towards the end, so he dips his head a bit before cutting the feed.]

I know what you mean. But it's as real here as you or me!

Has anyone explained things to you yet? Or offered to come get you? Because I can borrow someone's Pokémon and rush back to New Bark to get you!

[Asahina, you've been in Goldenrod like 2 days. You don't need to be backtracking that far.]

[OK RIGHT he was hoping you'd say that. He actually hasn't explored the town at all or even seen the Pokemon Center, but that's where he'll head next. If anything, any people he's run into so far have been nice enough. ...That person being "mom". She did give him a lot of useful things that he has yet to look through, so at least there's that.

And then there's his starter, who still has his full attention on his trainer. Now that he seems a bit calmer than he was when he was talking to Kirigiri, he's assumed a more relaxed posture.]

Ok...I'll.... go there and wait for you, Nanami-san.

[Pardon him while he locks this conversation, assuming it wasn't already. So far he's only met Hope's Peak students, but apparently they're not the only ones here, so.]

...Monobear...gave us a motive. ..It was...u-um.

As soon as I land, I'll let you know, Fujisaki-sama. Um...the house is really nice, so you can look forward to seeing it. They let me stay there when I'm in town, although this time I got a room at the inn...

[ ...The rest of her class doesn't really, but she's allowed. INTERDANGAN POLITICS. ]

[It hasn't quite been processed yet, but he has been told.]

[All he can manage is to agree, but, well. ...Her calm, gentle manner is helpful. It's really what he needs right now, even though he's literally just met her. ...There's something familiar about Nanami he can't place.]

[Don't expect him to call you daughter any time soon, though.]

[ That's okay, Chihiro. She can wait. She's very patient! ...And just talking to him is enough for her, for the moment. ]

[ Because she really will get a move on to come and pick him up.

SHE CAN'T BELIEVE SHE GETS TO GO PICK HIM UP...clearly she needs to be pinched but she thinks if she asked Kuzuryuu to pinch her he might scold or laugh or something. Or he might actually pinch her.

Either way, she smiles as she waves goodbye. ]

[For once, his natural tendency to just jump in there and get to the point is going to work to everyone's benefit. Let's not dwell on that, shall we...]

[It's slight....ever so slight, but he smiles back, finally pulling his hand from the Zigzagoon so he can wave a little in return.

...He's not in Hope's Peak. He's safe. ...Or...he will be. Nothing can hurt him here.

He just needs to wait.]

Okay, good. I'd probably do a terrible job of explaining thing anyway, ha ha.

[She smiles again, trying to put her anxious classmate at ease.]

Nanami-chan is really helpful, huh? If you're still looking for a place to stay tonight the people at the PokéLab are pretty good about people sleeping there. [She knows from experience.]

[He nods a little, his shoulders slumping slightly with what looks to be relief. It's not really something he wants to talk about right now, particularly when it's not face to face besides. He has so many questions and things he knows he needs to ask, but until he's in Goldenrod they'll just have to wait.

Sleeping will be difficult tonight, that's for sure.

Chihiro seems to perk slightly, though, when Ishimaru mentions Mondo. He doesn't say anything about it, but...the interest can be seen, at least.]

Ok.. ...I really...don't know yet. ...w-what I want to know, I mean.

[He nods a little, one of his hands knotted into the fur of the Zigzagoon in his lap, the other still hanging onto his 'Gear.]

Mhm...Nanami-san told me I could....stay at the Pokemon Center, if I wanted.

[Either place is fine, really, as long as it's sheltered. He'd like to be somewhere with people so he's not alone, but with people who aren't going to try to strike up a conversation with him. Goodness knows he's not really up for casual conversation at the moment.]

[He falls silent for a moment at that; not bothered, just...thinking.]

...Take your time in deciding. It took me a long time before I decided I wanted to hear about what happened in my circumstances; it...changes things.

Make sure you're all right with that before deciding.

[Again he nods, stiffening slightly. ..As if he didn't have enough to think about already.]

[Though the information Kirigiri has already given him is enough to make him question what happened, along with knowing enough to be able to figure out what....will happen. ...He doesn't want to really think about it at all, but now that he knows he's sort of obligated to.]

For now, I'm...j-just glad I'm not...alone, here.

[ Not dead yet, but almost. Naegi remembers when they got the motives and they all dispersed to return to their rooms. How he had truly thought that no one would get killed because of some secrets, and that he had been proved wrong less than twelve hours later.

It's been almost a year but he still remembers it in vivid detail. ]

[He'd thank you for that if he knew how to word it, Naegi. The amount of information that's been handed to him over the past half hour or so is quite a lot, far too much for him to handle in one sitting. He knows he won't be getting much sleep tonight, but if anything he'll be able to take the time to think.

...Oh, the Pokémon. He'd been so preoccupied that he nearly forgot he was there, yet his hand has been absently petting the little guy all the while. He's like....like a pet that Chihiro always wanted. ..Not exactly a dog, but.]

Well, um...I was thinking about calling him....Isamu.

[He'd been thinking about it between video responses, about how he'd taken the motive in a way that Monobear probably never intended. ..It seems fitting, given those circumstances.]

[Just. ...what he wouldn't give to be there, instead of...here. Still, here is far better than Hope's Peak will ever be. At any rate, he knows he should be counting his lucky stars right now and just be patient until Nanami arrives.]

[...Mmmmgh. Great. First Oowada, then Asahina, and now Fujisaki. Apparently, he isn't allowed a week's peace without being forced to acknowledge someone who has every right to want to punch him in the face.

He opts for text, not particularly wanting to see Fujisaki face to face until he absolutely has to. He doesn't hide his identity or his gear number.]

I take it that you've been provided with plenty of information already.

[.....Ah. Togami-kun. Rest assured, the last thing you need to worry about is Chihiro Fujisaki punching you in the face. Even if he wanted to, he couldn't. ...Because he's Chihiro, come on.

He's definitely going to have an easier time responding through texts, though, so you won't be forced to suffer through the long pauses of Chihiro trying to puzzle out what to say.]

Yes, I have. I'll be at Goldenrod in a few days.

[Well, he will still have to suffer through the pauses, but at least they won't be accompanied by agonized or otherwise tearful expressions.]
