001 | Video/Action for New Bark

[A video appears on the feed with the sound of a Pokemon crying out happily, slightly muffled and at a bit of a distance. ”Goon! Gooon!” The feed shudders a bit, the surroundings shifting until whoever is on the other side finally gets their PokéGear angled toward themselves. Coming into view is what appears to be a young girl, and from the way their voice sounds in addition there’s nothing that could lead anyone to believe otherwise. This is in fact not the case, and rather she is a he. Still, the outfit he’s currently wearing seems to be made specifically for girls...]

Hello. ..Um. ...

[The child on the other end hesitates, pausing before trying to start again.]

My name... is Chihiro Fujisaki. I’m…not sure where I am...or what is going on, exactly.

[There’s a pause as the feed shifts once again, Chihiro moving to carefully sit in the grass instead of standing. The second he does a Zigzagoon climbs into his lap, nudging his head fondly against the underside of the boy's chin. He's not entirely sure what to do, obviously slightly unsure of the furry creature in his lap, but he seems friendly at least. After a pause he gently pets the Pokémon who continues to sit happily in his lap. Chihiro has arrived slightly overwhelmed by...well, everything, so it’s a moment before he’s able to continue.]

Or...how I got here, but.... Naegi-kun, Oowada-kun, Ishimaru-kun...um...Asahina-san...

[He quickly prattles off all the names of his classmates that he can remember off-hand, before realizing that a huge list of names won’t probably mean much if they...aren’t actually around. That thought strikes him hard for a moment before he takes a breath and continues, his grip on the ‘Gear tightening.]

...and everyone else. If any of you are here, from Hope’s Peak, please answer. Something...something must have happened. I mean, I’m outside again...and not...

[Chihiro seems unsure of what else to say, whatever he was saying dying on his tongue with his voice wavering slightly towards the end, so he dips his head a bit before cutting the feed.]

Mmm, it was a while ago though. Like...at some point towards the middle of last year, I think?

[He raises a hand in greeting.]

It's nice to see you again, Chihiro. I was hoping you'd find your way back here eventually.

[omfg no don't give him that look. IT'S OKAY CHIHIRO, REALLY. YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE SORRY.]

Hey, what's with that face? You're not beating yourself up over the fact that you can't remember me, right? That would be silly! And as much as I can appreciate silliness, this is like...you know, the not-so-good kind of silly.

[He is...so used to this sort of thing by now that it's honestly kind of unnerving how little something like being forgotten by a friend bothers him.]

It's really okay. If we were friends once, we can be friends again, right?

[VICTORY FOR JOHN.]

[He beams widely, clearly pleased by this.]

Great. If there's anything you have questions about that your classmates haven't explained yet, feel free to ask.
ghostytrainer: (well you see i made myself in a lab.)

Well you don't have to if you don't want to. Nobody's going to force you or anything like that. We're all just assigned a class when we're brought here: either a trainer or a breeder. They're both...basically exactly what they sound like.

Trainers are supposed to try and train strong Pokémon through fighting and obtain all the badges, Breeders are supposed to breed and raise strong Pokémon but they don't have to focus on the badges if they don't want to. Some breeders decide to win them anyway though, just like some trainers decide to do some breeding. There are different sort of...perks that come with each class. Breeders are able to get more eggs per clutch and they don't need badges in order to use HM moves outside of battle. Trainers get more money for defeating leaders and get discounts in shops.

[Did'ja get all that? It's kind of a lot of info at once, forgive John he's not the best at explaining things.]

But like I said, you're pretty much free to do whatever you want.

Hehe, well you'll definitely need a second Pokémon he's compatible with, which probably goes without saying. Oh, but what might not go without saying is that it doesn't have to be another Zigzagoon. In fact, in some ways it's almost better to breed cross species pairs. You won't wind up with a new species or anything, but sometimes the dad will pass down moves to the babies that they can't learn any other way!

Every Pokémon belongs to either one or two egg groups and its those groups that determine what other species they can breed with. It should all be in your manual, if you haven't gone through that already.

Mmm! [He nods.] I'm a trainer, buuut I do a little breeding on the side sometimes. I breed ghost types!

[He beams, flashing a thumbs up.]

So if you ever want a really kickass ghost, I'm your guy!

[And frankly, why WOULDN'T you want a kickass ghost?]

My fiancée is actually a breeder though. So she does it a lot more than me, and she end up using a lot of my Pokémon as well. Really, she's the reason I know as much about breeding as I do. She takes it very, very seriously.

Hehe, Well it won't be hard for me to introduce her to you if you want.

[She has so many tips, Chihiro. So many.]

But yeah, ghost types! See, all Pokémon have types that determine their strengths and weaknesses and what sort of moves they can learn, stuff like that. Ghost types are my specialty, they're fascinating.
ghostytrainer: (that makes me smile!)

Equally as easy for me to do! Actually, I could show you some of my ghosts right now if you wanted.
ghostytrainer: pkmn (tron)

[personal profile] ghostytrainer 2014-03-30 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Of course. Most of them are probably just goofing off somewhere in the house anyway. Actually...if I know Tron, I bet I don't even have to leave this room to find one.

And I get the feeling that Rotom is your kind of ghost.

[Everyone has a ghost that suits them best. Everyone.]

[With a chuckle, John sets his 'gear down on what's probably a coffee table, pointing it towards a turned off TV. He moves over to the device, tapping lightly on the top of it.]

Hey Tron, you taking a nap in there? [...did the television just make a buzzing sound? While...still turned off?] That's what I thought. Come on out, buddy I've got somebody who wants to meet you.

[There's another, less sleepy sounding buzz from the TV before it suddenly turns itself on. Taking up the entire screen is a bright orange face with a huge, toothy smile plastered across it. The creature giggles in a mischievous, oddly digital-sounding way before the TV screen cuts off again in a flash of electric blue light.]

[John moves back to the coffee table, picking the gear back up just in time to point it at a small orange creature now floating in mid-air.]

Chihiro, this is Tron. Tron, this is-- ack! [John's cut off as the Rotom literally zaps through the air to press its face up on the Pokégear's camera. Hi Chihiro. Hi. How bout this close up here, huh?]

Bzzzzzap!!!

Dude, come on now... sorry about that. [John pulls the camera away, taking a seat back on the couch and looking apologetic. Tron zooms over and starts buzzing around John's head, seeming to disappear and reappear in little flashes of blue light.] He's um...excitable.

[Try hyperactive, John.]

But yeah, anyway, this is Tron. He's a Rotom. They can possess electronic appliances: fans, washing machines, refrigerators, TVs, computers, Pokégears...you name it. If it runs on electricity, they can get inside it and mess with it.

[There's a bunch of excited buzzing from Tron as he begins flailing his arms. Hihihihihihihi Yes hi hellooooooooooohihi. Hi!!]

Yup, exactly! And there are certain appliances they can possess that will change their typing entirely. Kinda like a temporary evolution in a way. But like I said, they can go in anything electronic. Tron's really fond of TVs but he also spends a fair bit of time in my 'gear too. It's really convenient since I don't have to hold it that way.
ghostytrainer: (that makes me smile!)

[personal profile] ghostytrainer 2014-04-05 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Eevee, I'm guessing? [John chuckles.] Yeah, there are some Pokémon that can do that. But then there are others that have changeable forms that aren't actual evolutions. Castform and Cherrim are like that too, they change forms depending on the weather outside.

Anyway, I bought Tron as an egg from the breeding center in Goldenrod a few years back. I...think they might still stock them, but I'm not sure. But if they don't I've also seen them in the wild. They like to hang out in appliance stores in Goldenrod.
ghostytrainer: (no i cannot smile doofishly.)

Oh yeah, the Eevee horde, how could I forget? [So cute, so fluffy.]

Hehe, well you won't have to look too hard if you do. Though they might pop out at you...they are ghosts, after all. But hey, at least you have a head's up about that now!
