[Appearing on the network this morning is a video live from the Dangan House, where things have...certainly happened. Chihiro stands in the center of his bedroom facing the camera with three eggs cradled in his arms of different colors. He seems to be alright, though rather flustered...and it's easy to see why. A Flareon lies on the bed next to a Persian with several eggs between them. Across the room, a Meganium has the edge of a towel in her mouth, fussing over getting it draped over one of the eggs.

Standing next to Chihiro is a Leavanny with an egg held carefully in her arms, watching the screen with a happy smile. All in all, if someone cares to count the eggs filling the room, they will find twenty in all.]

U-um....good morning.

[MISTAKES WERE MADE.]

Would...would anyone be interested in taking care of an egg? I can send a list of what I have, and their moves...

[The Leavanny gently places the egg in her arms on the bed between the Flareon's paws before stepping back over to Chihiro, relieving him of one of the eggs with a cheerful, "Lea! Leavanny!"]

They won't cost much...I-I trust that whoever gets one would take good care of them.

I just...have too many. I hope I can find them all good homes..

[He frets to himself as he looks down at the two eggs in his arms, one tawny and brown, the other plain white. The feed cuts as the Leavanny takes another egg from Chihiro before taking him by the hand, leading him back over to the bedside to check on the rest of the eggs.]

[Admittedly, she hadn't looked too closely at the blocky pokemon, especially after inspecting Meowth.]

Like, more interesting than electric moneycats? What do they do?

Well, um...they are man-made, for one thing. They can enter electronic devices, like PokeGears.

[She straightens a tiny bit, losing a little of that easy lilt in her voice.]

Man-made, like...coded? [Ralph had been sucked into the network, during those strange glitch days...] So are they like game characters, or something?

Mmm...I'm not sure if that's quite the right word for it....but in a way, I suppose they can be. Though they have the ability to influence whatever they are in, and actually use it.

My..my Porygon sends text messages sometimes.

[Most of the time when they aren't wanted, mind.]

[Right. She reminds herself again that everyone else thought of game characters differently, having forgot that they were some themselves. They weren't supposed to have minds of their own, as...weird as that was to try and wrap her head around.]

Really? That's pretty cool. And the texts are in people-words, instead of how pokemon talk?

[He nods.]

They are a bit stilted and simple at times, but they are highly intelligent and seem to learn very rapidly.

Huh.

[There's a thoughtful pause as she scratches behind Taffy's ear. They certainly did seem interesting, as promised...]

Y'think next time you get some of those eggs, I could buy one?

Considering the amount of times I've heard of people selling eggs and having a bunch of them, it's really not a bad idea...

I'd be a shitty breeder. [ Snake smirks. ] I'd just put two of them together and hope they get to third base.

[Chihiro ducks his head slightly and reaches up to brush his bangs out of his eyes, his face growing a bit red by now.]

Y-yes I....that...wouldn't be a smart practice...

Of course. I'll remember to save you one of them, next time.

[And hopefully he'll be trying again soon...with a bit less of an egg explosion.]

[Sorry Chihiro, Shaun's giggling right now.]

I had the same problem about a month ago. ...But I guess you're a breeder, so you ended up with a lot more than I did, huh?

[Chihiro smiles weakly, letting out a soft sigh.]

Y-yes. Q...quite a lot more...

[He lets his shoulders droop a bit as he sits down on the edge of the bed, careful not to jostle it too much lest the eggs in the center start to shift.]

Are you still looking for homes for them all? What kinds of eggs did you get?

A few of them still need homes, yes. I have, um..

[He glances over at the eggs again to take a quick headcount- shellcount?- before turning his attention back to the Gear.]

I have Eevee, Growlithe, Meowth, and Porygon.

Well... If it's okay, could I buy a Meowth? I could use more pokemon from the original games! And Persians are really cool, they look kinda like mountain lions.

Of course. These Meowth are special, actually...they will all hatch knowing Thunderbolt.

Wow, Thunderbolt? Hehe, that's a pretty funny move for a Meowth to know.

Hehe, it is. Togami-kun taught Rich and Alice Thunderbolt, so they already knew the move when I got them.

I guess Normal-types can learn a lot of moves that don't match their type, huh?

I dunno how I did it but somehow I've only got two normal-types out of all of my pokemon.

[He nods.]

Since Henko evolved, I only have two normal-types myself, actually.

Is that the Meowth's mom and dad?

My friend Norman left me his Watchhog Alvin when he went home. And then I caught Lulu as a Lillipup.

...I think I've got one of every type now.

That's right.

[Togami leaving had been Chihiro's first experience with that sort of thing. It did frighten him a little- since it could happen to anyone- but he tried not to dwell on it too much.]

I have mostly normal and fire types right now, I think...but perhaps one day I will have one of each.

...I've got a lot of fire types too.

[that's why it sucks so much to be stuck out in the rain.]

I think I've got...four? Yeah, that's right.

Sometimes it's hard. Like I think my Raichu would really like another electric-type to play with, 'cause he's the only one on my team right now. But my Nidoking's okay without other poison-types, so I guess it's prolly a little to do with type and a lot to do with the individual pokemon.

[ Right, talking to a kid. Snake is terrible with kids. He rubs his neck absently, thinking about what to say. ]

Anyway, so, the Porygon will be in my box? [ BACK TO THE SUBJECT AT HAND. ] What do you recommend for raising one of these?

I think you're right, Shaun-kun. It's like people....it's...what's on the inside that counts. Isn't that how the saying goes...?

[He sighs a little, letting his hands fold in his lap.]

As long as your team is happy with one another, the types shouldn't matter so much.
