There is something I have been thinking about for a while, so I wanted to get some opinions from others about it.
The PokéGear has a lot of useful functions. Some of them are pretty standard, like the Pokédex, Map, or Radio, and most of us use the PokéGear connect to speak to the Network like I am doing right now. And of course you can play games or listen to music on it, too.
The Gear is useful for both trainers and breeders when it comes to having ready information on Pokémon, but I think most of us do tend to use it mostly for communication purposes. But that's why I wanted to ask...
Are there any sorts of applications that you think might be useful additions to the PokéGear? Something that could be helpful for you as a trainer, or breeder...or possibly just something you would like for recreational purposes, maybe.

i was talking about it during that new years party
its not as important in johto cause we can all speak the same language
but if we go anywhere like kalos again we could have problems
i mean its not the best idea and i dunno how easily you could make something like that

i wish i could help you out with that but i dont know jackshit about this
i dont know how to program or code or whatever it is you do
and i know even less about languages
but im sure there are plenty of people here who can speak other languages
it might be a good project to work on in the future!
but as for right now ive got no idea for other things to put on the gear

It's okay! I am going to get my Porygons to help me with the larger amounts of coding I'm going to have to do, depending on what I eventually decide to work on.
There have been a few good ones, yes. Particularly one being that there be a sort of tag system for the Network to help organize posts using keywords. That way it would be easier to find...say, people selling eggs, for example.
Another was an extension of the Pokemon scanner that the Pokedex already has; it would scan Pokemon and give further information on them beyond species information, such as what their abilities are.

but thered probably be some people spamming the tags just to be annoying
or to try to get attention or something
its definitely a good idea though!
having some way of knowing what abilities and shit pokemon have would be really useful too
especially if youre looking for a rare one
could you expand on that and show what moves the pokemon has too?
either way im sure youll have a lot of work ahead of you
dont get too carried away with it
you can always ask for help with the simpler shit after all!

And I think so, yes! That one might be a bit more difficult, though...like I told someone else before, I don't work closely with Pokemon as much as a professor might, but I do know a lot about how they learn moves with the breeding I have done. So it would take more work, but I don't think it would be impossible.
Whatever I work on I'll probably be taking it slow, regardless of what it is. I want to be sure it works properly, after all.

But as soon as I can get a laptop to work on, I can. The Gear works well for writing codes, but sooner or later I'll need something more reliable to save my work on.
