Sorta? You talk about technology and stuff like Atsuro. I figured you'd like games since it's about the same techno-gizmo-code stuff, even if it was scary.

[Rin shrugs. Chihiro just didn't seem like the kind of person who'd let a "scary game" stop him from figuring stuff out.

Rin looks over to the pokemon for a moment, just to make sure Poochy is behaving herself. So far she's only spares Isamu a glance before quietly joining him. T-Bone hovers around Rin, bouncing his attention between Rin and his guest.]

But since we're ready, we're going in for the long-haul. Got it, Chihiro? That means no breaks, not until we beat the whole thing!

[The Linoone seems perfectly fine with just sitting there and eating for as long as he's allowed, but at least he has enough tact to not try and eat from all of the bowls at once.

Chihiro carefully puts his bag in a nearby chair before turning his attention back to Rin.]

Oh, um...o-okay! I'll do my best.

[...how many nights did Maka say that game had, anyway?]

[Rin pats Chihiro's shoulder in what he hopes is a reassuring gesture.]

I know you will! Just relax, okay? I'm the one holdin' it so this of it as me takin' all the hits!

[Did that sound lame? Hopefully not. He was trying to impress Chihiro, not make Chihiro less likely to think of him as a cool dude.

With that little proclamation, Rin wanders off to the nearest sofa and plants himself between the cushions. The gear is on and ready and there is an open seat right beside him and ARE YOU READY FOR THIS?????

Rin has a bright and eager smile on his face and he boots up the game on the gear. He looks over the top of the pokegear for just a moment.]

The first night should be super easy!

[HE'S...SUPER NOT READY BUT HE'LL COME OVER ANYWAY, sitting down carefully next to Rin so he can look at the Gear over his shoulder.]

I would hope so, at least...it wouldn't be much fun if the beginning was too difficult.

[Then again, no matter how hard it is difficulty wise, being scary at all already isn't too appealing...but oh my god he's going to try.]

Nuh-uh, a game is only as fun as its difficulty! It's gotta be hard or else it'll feel like we're playing a baby game.

[AND AS TEENAGERS, THEY CANNOT BE SEEN PLAYING A BABY VIDEO GAME. PERISH THE THOUGHT.

As they spoke, Rin familiarized himself with the controls. It seemed simple enough. Check cameras, watch for walking creepy things, flash lights.]

[Ugh...it's so dark. Dark and spooky and nope yeah Rin you can just...man the controls while he tries not to stare at the corners of the dark room too much.]

So you just...have to not get caught. Right?

Right. But it's weird. They're movin' slow anyway, it's not like they can really catch you.

[It's not that spooky... Rin's not scared (no way!) but he's trying to keep his focus on the gear. He's gotta make sure that those things don't suddenly sneak up on him.]

[Chihiro nods, keeping quiet for a moment so Rin can focus. Even if they're not fast, it's really the jumpscares that he doesn't like...and in games like this, there seems to be very little warning before things suddenly start happening.]

[Checking, checking, che- oh no you don't! Ha! Thought you could sneak up on Rin, eh?] This is so easy! You sure you don't wanna give it a go?

[Rin glances over to Chihiro. As much as he had to keep an eye on the game, he wanted to make sure Chihiro wasn't too freaked out. He bumps against Chihiro's side with his elbow.]

We're almost done with the first night! You can relax in... Two hours.

[Two...hours...hahaha...]

O-oh no...that's okay. It's more fun watching, anyway. I like to watch Nanami-san play games when we're together, so...

[Not that he isn't totally convinced he'd be amazing at this game if he tried, or anything...]

[He'll say he saw it, considering the little cry of surprise he ended up letting out just before stifling it with his hands covering his mouth.]

D-do you have enough power left?

Power? I have a battery in this game?!

[He's down to 15%. The clock is forever at 4am. All of the animatronics are walking about. The first bowl of snacks is almost gone.]

[...Rin did you heck up already.]

Yes! You've been using power by checking the cameras, see?

[What? No! Pay no attention to the eerie background music that has suddenly decided to make an appearance.]

Oh! That's what that thing was for? ... oh!, so that means we only have 10% for the rest of the night?

[MAYBE IF YOU DIDN'T KEEP THE CLOSING THE DARN DOORS...]

[...yeah hopefully Rin won't mind Chihiro scooting a bit closer to his side because this is starting to get 2spooky 2fast.]

[H-He doesn't mind at all. Chihiro was going to prove to be a distraction, if only because Rin is caught between feeling somewhat embarrassed and wanting to miraculously finish the first night without incident.]

It can't stay 4 o'clock forever! See? If I just... [... he was going to keep the door open BUT RIGHT BEHIND IT WAS SOME MOOK IN A SUIT. So he slammed that door closed asap. B-But the power takes a major hit!]

Should I just keep it open and flash it?

[Chihiro's nearly watching through his fingers now, barely able to squeak out a response.]

U-um...k-keep it closed for a second...maybe it'll go away...

[He does exactly as Chihiro says and the battery drops to 7% while they keep the door closed for "a second". When he opens it again --

-- Rin actually flinches and closes that door so fast it ain't even funny.]

Fu-- he's still there!

Still?! W-we don't have enough power to keep the door shut until 6, do we?

[yay, it's finally 5am!]

[Even though they're probably already sunk, maybe they can preserve their last bit of power for...a few more minutes, anyway.]

[He's not even gonna question it. The door opens up - the meter reads 3% - and there is no one there.

But there is a distinct sound in the vent system. Rin holds his breath...]

[Chihiro immediately puts his hands up over his eyes again, unable to continue looking at the screen.]

[The sound stops. Rin exhales slowly. He has to be care of the dark shadows. Those things could be hidden somewhere in there. He flicks on the lights in the halls, checks the cameras once more, and spares a glance towards Chihiro.

He closes the door with 1% left in the power gauge...]
