[It's around midday, and a shaky video suddenly appears on the Network. At first it's pretty blurry and staticy, as if the Gear itself is malfunctioning a bit, before Chihiro finally comes into focus. He's standing...no, he's crouching behind what looks like a desk not too far from a wall of televisions, and tucked behind his ankles is a Flareon whose fur is glowing softly. It looks like he's in a store of some kind.]
Does anyone have any suggestions for catching a Pokemon that is, um...very fast?
[Chihiro whispers, glancing up when something falls off of a shelf offscreen and clatters to the floor. His Flareon growls softly, peering around the edge of the counter as Chihiro turns his attention back to the screen.]
I haven't caught many Pokemon myself, since I breed them mostly...and this one won't-
[All of a sudden the feed cuts.
For a while- like, five minutes or more- there's no further activity on the Network. Then, as abruptly as the first one appeared, a second one comes, this time with Chihiro sitting on the floor instead of crouching, his Flareon in his lap and both of them looking rather frazzled.]
A-actually, I think I maybe should jus-
[Before he finishes the TV screens flash rapidly behind him, and the set nearest him seems to suddenly change appearance, a cheerful giggling sounding before all of the lights turn off in the store. After that, the feed cuts again.]

...Maybe, you can try to lure it out of the store? That might help you get a hit in.
[Hmm...he hadn't thought about that.]
I suppose I could try, but I don't know if it really wants to get too far from these electronics. They stretch all the way to the front of the store, so it could easily block me in before I can get out.
[Which is half the reason why he's still stuck where he is.]
[As long as you weren't shoplifting, Chihiro. Because that would be wrong.]
Mmm...
[He pauses to peek around the corner again. All is quiet. ..too quiet.]
I suppose I could...it has been going into my Gear now and then, but Zip is in there, too, so I'm not sure if it will try that a second time.
[Nothing like waking up in the dead of night with your Pokegear on and playing the Five Nights at Fantina's sound effects.]
[That seems simple enough, but he hasn't been able to yet get a clear shot.]
[sweats loudly....]
It was mostly on reflex. I didn't really want to capture the damn thing in the first place.
Well...I'll try that and see if it works. If not...I guess I'll have to think of something else.
[He certainly isn't above bailing and trying again later. ...maybe also with backup.]
[That's the best strategy. Veronica's strategy boiled down to "run away and run back to see what happens."]
....uhh, good luck.
[...]
O-oh, I...I don't think I know your name, actually.
I'm Chihiro.
[INTRODUCTIONS ARE A THING
Veronica put on a smile, a little embarrassed that she keeps forgetting this part of being social.]
I'm Veronica Madaraki.
It's nice to meet you, Veronica-san. Maybe the next time I talk to you I'll...actually have a Rotom, too.
[....Well, two Rotoms in one place sounds.... interesting at least.]
But, uh, good luck with that. Rotoms are... weird.
